Kwara South Senate Seat: Group Urges Fairness, Equity During Visit To Olupo Of Ajase-Ipo
Ahead of the 2027 General Election, a group, the Kwara South Unity Group (KSUG) has emphasized the need to ensure that all the components and blocs in the Kwara South senatorial district are given equal opportunities and also seen and considered as equals.

The group noted that while the people of Kwara South will continue to stay together as one, there is a need to however ensure that everyone has the same rights, value and opportunities.
Leaders of the group visited the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ismail Muhammed Atoloye Alebiosu on Saturday and urged him to lead the charge in respect of the agitation for an Igbomina indigene to occupy the parliament seat in 2027. They also noted that the ‘parliament seat’ should be microzoned to Irepodun local government with Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun in mind.
A member of the KSUG ,Hon Adebayo Alao said Ibolo and Ekiti blocs have since 1999 produced individuals who have occupied the parliament seat and it should naturally be the turn of the Igbomina axis.
He noted that the visit to the Ajase-Ipo monarch was to urge him to be the driving force for ‘Igbomina agitation’ and ensure that the bloc presents a common front.

Hon Alao also said the most suitable person for the job is Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun adding that he not only knows the problem of the people but has also shown that he is a true party man by seeking Kwara South APC nomination and remaining in the party despite not getting it on two previous occasions.
He urged the monarch to discuss with traditional rulers in Ekiti and Ibolo and make them see a reason to promote fairness and equity by allowing the ‘senate seat’ to move to ‘Igbomina axis’.
Hon Ajan Agbenisi, who spoke on behalf of Ekiti people in Kwara State, also emphasized the need to allow the ‘senate seat’ move to Igbomina axis to ensure fairness and equity.
‘We have been together for years and we are brothers, Ekiti has done it for 12 years, Ibolo has also had it for 12 years, principle of fairness requires that it should move from Ibolo to Igbomina axis in 2027.
If you observe, you will see that there are no aspirants from the Ekiti axis ,we don’t like being cheated and we don’t cheat others.
We should allow the Igbomina axis to produce the next senator and the best person for the job is Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi, who has been impacting lives through ENACT and other initiatives and although he failed to get party nomination on two different occasions he however remains a friend to all’ he said.
Dr Babtunde Salami also said it is not open to debate that it is the turn of Igbomina people in Kwara State to produce the representative of Kwara South in the senate.
‘We all know that it is the turn of Igbomina and out of the three local governments, it is Irepodun that has not produced a senator.
Since the creation of Irepodun local government, it has not enjoyed the privilege of having a senator.
Irrespective of political parties, we want all the aspirants to be from Irepodun local government.
Engineer Adeyemi is a politician that we all know his antecedents, he has done a lot in respect of youth and women empowerment. He is not a seasonal politician. If he becomes a senator he will do more. Some will seek party nomination and once they do not get it, they will not be available any more, he is not like that, we therefore want him as our representative in the senate’ he added.
Hon Tunde fadipe also spoke in the same vein emphasizing the need to attach importance to fairness and equity and avoid a situation where a local government will somewhat get considered as ‘second class’.
Calling Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi a great unifier, he noted that the EBACT Principal had engaged in community service before getting into politics noting that having people from Ibolo and Ekiti as promoters of his candidacy has shown that he is a good man.
Hon Shade Olanrewaju, who declared the support of women in Kwara South for the ‘Igbomina lokan agitation’, said it is important that the axis presents a common front and support Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi’s candidacy.

Noting that monarchs are father figures to all aspirants, she however emphasized the need to have the aerospace engineer as preferred candidate.
Responding, the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ismail Muhammed Atoloye Alebiosu said Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun is well-known to him, adding that he has some level of knowledge of his activities and can also attest to the fact that all they have said about him are not only real but unvarnished truth.
He promised to continue to be a father figure to all and advance the growth and progress of Kwara South senatorial district-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
