Kwara South Senate Seat: Nurudeen Adeyemi Concludes Series Of Interactive Meetings, Calls APC Crowded Primary Field ‘Good Consequence Of Otoge’

Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun successfully concluded his series of interactive meetings with ward and local government APC officials and stakeholders in the seven local governments in Kwara South senatorial district on Thursday.

Recall that the aerospace engineer had joined other aspirants to participate in the screening exercise held in Abuja over the weekend and he had gotten the go-ahead to seek the Kwara South APC senate nomination.

Recall also that Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun had on Monday kicked off strategic meetings and made a series of visits to stakeholders in Irepodun local government with a view to gaining more support for his candidacy and securing more endorsements.

The ‘train’ moved to Ifelodun and Isin local governments on Tuesday while it berthed in Offa and Oyun local governments on Wednesday.

Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, who is a Kwara South APC senate aspirant, concluded the series of interactive meetings on Thursday by having face-to-face meetings with ward and local government APC officials and stakeholders in Ekiti and Oke-Ero local governments.

Team@orientactualmags.com reports that the separate meetings were held in Osi and Iloffa respectively.

Addressing the party members, Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun emphasized the need to protect the interest of the unborn generation by choosing credible candidates while warning that failure to do this may be a regrettable action.

He also noted that it is important to choose leaders based on their good track records rather than allowing emergence of ineffective leaders and later engaging in blame-shifting.

Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun also commented on the Kwara State APC crowded primary field and submitted that there is nothing unusual about it.

He asserted that having a crowded primary field shows that APC is popular and has strong virility hence the struggle to get nominated by the party.

The Kwara South APC senate aspirant also called the crowded primary field ‘good consequence of the 2019 Otoge campaign’.

Engineer Adeyemi said it is beauty of democracy and positive benefit of otoge while adding that ‘we have a good platform and people have freewill to contest or not’.

Promising to deliver good representation if elected senator next year, Engineer Adeyemi also urged the people of Kwara South to assess candidates and choose rightly.

He noted that the current occupant of the parliament seat, Senator Lola Ashiru had sought party nomination and contested in more than two elections before 2019 when the people of Kwara South felt he should be given the opportunity to show his capacity which he had since done for seven years.

Engineer Adeyemi added that like Senator Ashiru, he had previously sought for party nomination and did not get it on two occasions.

He had however not only remained a member of the party but also worked for the success of all the candidates nominated by the party, therefore, having sought for party nomination in 2019 and 2023, this time around, the spirit of Emi lokan (it’s my turn) should according to him be allowed to prevail.

In their separate speeches, members of the ENACT team, Engineer Bayo Alao, Hajia Abdulyekeen Sherrifat Mojisola and Hon Tunde Fadipe expressed confidence in Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi’s capacity to lead and ensure quality representation citing his good record and passionate commitment to serving humanity.

Hon Tunde Fadipe noted that as a member of the Board of Trustees of TETFUND where he represented North Central, Engineer Adeyemi had in less than two years facilitated appointments for over 60 people in the senatorial district at tertiary institutions in the country.

He added that he had done this through persuasion and good interpersonal skills which means he can deliver good representation and bring home more dividends of democracy if elected senator next year.

‘We know we have poor leadership in Kwara South and we cannot this time around choose someone who we have tested and has failed, we cannot also support a person who has not been tested and has just joined us. We have to support the person we know very well, someone who has shown loyalty to the party for close to a decade.

We know Engineer Adeyemi very well, he loves to assist people. We cannot afford to make a mistake that will take us another four years to correct’ he said.

A party stakeholder in Ekiti local government, Alhaji Saliu Bakare commended Engineer Adeyemi for being an altruistic person while also noting that he is not only a good-natured person but also accessible.

‘He is humble and friendly and he returns missed calls. He assists people without knowing them. I met one of the people he recently facilitated appointment for and you will not believe it that up till this present moment, he has not met him face-to-face’ Bakare added.

Also speaking, Prince Fagbemi Junior assured Engineer Adeyemi that delegates from Ekiti local government will vote for him while submitting that it is ‘zero’ for Senator Lola Ashiru in the local government because he has not only disconnected himself from the people but has also failed to fulfill electoral promises.

Hon Taiye Adebayo and Hon Taiye Awilagbara also said good things about Engineer Nurudeen Adeyemi while urging support for him.

Party bigwigs who attended the interactive meeting held in Oke-Ero include Comrade Ajiboye Temitope. Hon Sunday Adeosun, Hon Joseph Folaranmi, Hon Oluwole Babalola and Hon Oyewole Kayode Abel-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
