Mudashiru Obasa Elected Lagos Speaker For The 3rd Time
Hon Mudashiru Obasa of the Lagos state House of Assembly, who won a sixth term in March this year, has gotten elected as Speaker for the third time.
He has not only retained his Agege 1 parliament seat but also remains the head of the state legislature.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Mojisola Lasbat Meranda was also elected as Deputy Speaker.
The 10th Lagos state House of Assembly got convened on Tuesday and it had Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat and other top government officials in attendance .
Obasa , who was unanimously re-elected , was nominated by Hon. Temitope Adewale and the nomination was seconded by Sylvester Ogunkelu.
He would be the first person to serve as Speaker for twelve straight years, others including Hon Adejare Bello , who was the Speaker of Osun state House of Assembly between 2003 and 2011 ,had only done this for eight years.
