The Senate and House of Representatives elections were held in all the 36 states and the FCT on Saturday, 25 February 2023 and winners of the elections are already being announced.
In Kwara state, the ruling APC has won all the three senate seats and the six reps seats in the state.
The party had done this for the second time in four years having won all the national assembly seats in 2019.
A political pundit, Mr. Ahmed Adetayo in assessing the senate and reps elections held in Kwara state on Saturday listed popularity of the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the outstanding achievements of the Abdul Rahman AbdulRazaq administration as major factors that according to him helped to push APC candidates over the top .
In a telephone interview with Team@orientactualmags.com, Adetayo said two major factors actually shaped the elections.
‘We all know that things were made easy for majority of them because we have a presidential candidate that is popular in the state and also because the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration has recorded outstanding accomplishments especially in the education and health sectors , and the governor was on the campaign trail in Kwara Central and other parts of the state and he also frequented the Kwara South and Kwara North senatorial districts to market the party and the message everywhere was ‘from top to bottom’.
