‘Our profession needs a new  dimension. We’ll make sure PR is practiced by PR Professionals. We won’t allow our ‘breakfast’ to be taken by people that are not trained.

We’ll take the issue of compliance and enforcement seriously, reinvent our profession for the purpose and the value of the nation.

Countries that understand the value of the Public Relations always excel , so therefore we are going to rebrand Nigeria.

As we have our colleague as Minister of Information, who understands strategic communications. We’ll work with him to generate new ideas with support of my team.

I want to assure that with our collective efforts, we can rewrite, reinvent and review our profession for better in this new dawn’ he  said.

In the meanwhile,  Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has congratulated  Dr. Saudat Salah AbdulBaqi and an APC chieftain Alhaji Lanre Issa Onilu, who are indigenes of Kwara state,  on their emergence as members of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

While Dr. AbdulBaqi was elected by delegates to the NIPR Convention, Onilu was  nominated by  the Federal Government.

The Governor had earlier called on delegates to the keenly contested convention to vote massively for Dr. AbdulBaqi, a communications expert, who was the chairman of the state chapter of the NIPR and former head of mass communication department at the University of Ilorin.

‘The governor welcomes this historic development and commends all the delegates from Kwara and across the country for honouring a distinguished daughter of Kwara state with their votes, he similarly commends the Federal Government for choosing a great son of the state, Onilu, as one of its representatives on the prestigious council’ the governor submitted in  a Government House statement  made available  to Team@orientactualmags.com on Friday.

“The governor is confident that they will, as they always do in every office they held before, make the state proud as NIPR Governing Council members. He urges them to bring their expertise and wealth of experience as top public relations professionals and patriots to take the statutory body (NIPR) to a greater height.
