Notorious Kidnapper Hamisu Wadume Gets 7-Year Sentence In Abuja

Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court , Abuja has declared a kidnap kingpin, Hamisu Bala, also known as Wadume, and two others guilty of two of the charges preferred against them.
Aliyu Dadje, a police inspector, who was the station officer at the police headquarters in Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State, will also spend three years behind bars for tampering with the record in order to conceal a crime.
Apart from Wadume and Dadje, other convicts are Auwalu Bala (aka Omo Razor), Uba Bala (aka Uba Delu), Bashir Waziri (aka Baba Runs), Zubairu Abdullahi (aka Basho) and Rayyanu Abdul.
Delu, Abdullahi, and Abdul also got a seven-year sentence each while Omo Razor and Baba Runs were discharged and acquitted for want of evidence.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Justice Nyako’s judgment was delivered on July 22 while it was made available to journalists on Sunday.
Wadume and others were taken to court by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice and were accused of kidnapping, murder, terrorism and possession of illegal arms.
This was sequel to the killing of three police officers and two civilians on August 6, 2019 by some soldiers.
The policemen, who were attached to the Intelligence Response Team, Abuja, had arrested Wadume at Ibi before being ambushed on the road by the military men.
Ten military officers earlier charged along with the convicts and whose trial were separated for departmental reasons, are: Captain Tijjani Balarabe; Staff Sgt David Isaiah; Sgt Ibrahim Mohammed; Corporal Bartholomew Obanye; Private Mohammed Nura; Lance Corporal Okorozie Gideon; Corporal Marcus Michael; Lance Corporal Nvenaweimoeimi Akpagra; Staff Sgt Abdulahi Adamu and Private Ebele Emmanuel- Team@orientactualmags.com
