Ogun East Senate Seat: Senator Gbenga Daniel Refuses To Get Cowed, Obtains APC Nomination Form In Abuja
Former governor of Ogun State, Senator Gbenga Daniel has refused to get cowed as he obtained his APC nomination and expression of interest forms in Abuja on Tuesday.
Senator Gbenga Daniel, who became a member of the senate in 2023, has shown interest in retaining his parliament seat in 2027 while Governor Dapo Abiodun, who will be completing his constitutionally allowed two terms as governor of Ogun State next year, is also planning to ‘port’ to the legislative arm of government.
They are both members of the ruling APC and they are seeking party nomination.
APC stakeholders in the senatorial district including members of the Governor’s Advisory Council, lawmakers, local government officials, ward executives, councillors, youth and women leaders had a few days ago, announced Governor Dapo Abiodun as ‘consensus candidate’.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Senator Gbenga Daniel, who disclosed in a Facebook post on Tuesday that he has obtained his nomination and expression of interest forms, added that he has done this in order to continue to provide effective and responsive representation for the people of Ogun East Senatorial District.
‘Today, I picked up my nomination and expression of interest forms as I seek to return to the Nigerian Senate, continuing my efforts to provide effective and responsive representation for the people of Ogun East Senatorial District under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general election’ he submitted.
