Late Chief Rotimi Akeredolu eventually won re-election while Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa became the Deputy Governor of Ondo state on February 24 , 2021.
Aiyedatiwa also emerged as new governor of Ondo state following the death of Chief Rotimi Akeredolu in December last year.
Ajayi had also ahead of the 2020 guber election sought to get the Ondo state PDP nomination but lost to Eyitayo Jegede.
He was this time around successful in getting the Ondo state PDP guber nomination ahead of the November 2024 governorship election, however , it remains to be seen if it will be a win streak ‘all through’.
