Osun state APC has expressed its gratitude to members and supporters in the state for their unflinching support and for making the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign rally that was held in Osogbo on Thursday, a huge success.
Acting Chairman of the state APC , Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement made available toTeam@orientactualmags.com on Friday noted that he was particularly happy that members of the party and supporters turned out in large numbers asserting that it was the first time the venue, Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo, would host such a large number of people.
Lawal also stated that the level of decorum and discipline exhibited by members of the party both inside and outside the venue was highly commendable while imploring party members who were yet to collect their Permanent Voters Cards(PVC) to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to do so without further delay in order to vote during the upcoming general election.
The statement reminded party members and supporters that it is only a member or supporter of the party who has a PVC that is an asset to the party while categorizing anyone without a PVC as a mere noise maker and a greater liability to the party.
Lawal , who condemned reported incidents of what he described as needless harassment of some APC members and their supporters allegedly by some hired PDP political thugs while leaving their towns and villages for Osogbo, commended the efforts of both formal and informal security services to keep peace within and outside the venue of the rally.
In separate statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Saturday, February 4, 2023, the state APC also alleged that campaign posters and billboards of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu were destroyed in Osogbo while pointing the finger at the PDP.
APC alleged that those who carried out the defacement of the campaign posters ‘took off from the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and settled down to business immediately’.
The statement submitted that the defacement of Tinubu’s campaign posters and destruction of his campaign billboards was an indication that Governor Ademola Adeleke and his party had become unsettled following the huge crowd of party supporters that attended the APC presidential campaign rally in Osogbo.
Lawal noted that ‘there is nothing that Adeleke and his intolerant PDP members could do that would inhibit or prevent the success of Asiwaju Tinubu at the polls on February 25th, 2023’.
The statement added that the destruction of the campaign posters and billboards had further demarketed, depopularized and labeled the PDP and Governor Ademola Adeleke as people who could not withstand the opposition in a supposedly democratic government- Team@orientactualmags.com
