Oyetola, Oyebamiji, Etteh Other Dignitaries To Attend Veteran Politician Shuaib Oyedokun’s Book Launch In Osogbo July 2nd
A prominent politician in the country, Chief Shuaib Afolabi Oyedokun will on July 2, 2026, launch his book ‘Chief Shuaib Afolabi Oyedokun: A Peace Memoir’ in Osogbo, Osun State capital.
The event which will hold at Aurora Event Centre, Ring Road, Osogbo is being coordinated by the Veteran Journalists Association (VJA ), Osun State.
The organizers noted in the letter of invitation made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that it will be a 3-in-1 celebration for Chief Shuaib Oyedokun as he will be celebrating three milestones; his 91st birthday, getting bestowed with ‘ Lifetime Achievement and Peace Ambassador Award’ by the Council of American Peace Advocates (CAPA), and the official launch of his book, ‘Chief Shuaib Afolabi Oyedokun: A Peace Memoir’.
Professor Olu Aina will be the Chairman of the occasion, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr Gboyega Oyetola will be the Chief Host, Osun State APC gubernatorial candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, Distinguished Guest of Honour, Chief Bisi Akande, Father of the Day while former Speaker of House of Representatives, Hon Patriciah Foluke Etteh is the Mother of the Day.
Professor Olatunde Babawale has been invited as ‘Book Reviewer’ while Engineer Olanrewaju Adeleke will be the Chief Launcher.
The Veteran Journalists Association (VJA ) also noted that ‘in line with the global peace advocacy objectives of the Council of American Peace Advocates and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), proceeds from the book launch will be devoted to noble causes that include scholarship scheme for deserving students and the establishment of Oyedokun Reference Library Foundation which will be dedicated to promoting learning, research intellectual development and preservation of knowledge’.
Chief Shuaib Afolabi Oyedokun, who is an APC chieftain, had at different times served as old Oyo State NPN Secretary, Secretary to the old Oyo State Government under late Dr Omololu Olunloyo , PDP Deputy National Chairman (South) during the Olusegun Obasanjo administration and Chairman of Michael Imodu National Institute for Labour Studies, (MINILS), Ilorin, during the Goodluck Jonathan administration.
