President-Elect Donald Trump Receives Post-Election Congratulatory Calls From Kamala Harris, Biden
Presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, Kamala Harris on Wednesday disclosed that she has conceded defeat and accepted the outcome of the 2024 United States Presidential Election while urging her supporters to follow suit.
‘We must accept the results of this election.
Earlier today, I spoke with President-elect Trump and congratulated him on his victory’ Harris submitted at Howard University, Washington, D.C. on Wednesday.
‘We will continue to wage this fight in the voting booth, in the courts and in the public square’ Vice President Kamala Harris, who was joined by her husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, other family members and campaign staff, added.
She has also praised her campaign team for their role during the electioneering period.
‘I know folks are feeling and experiencing a range of emotions right now. I am so proud of the race we ran and the way we ran it’ she said.
The Vice President however noted that she will remain committed to fighting for ‘freedom’, and ‘opportunity’.
‘While I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign. The fight for freedom, for opportunity, for fairness and the dignity of all people. This is not a time to throw up our hands. This is a time to roll up our sleeves’ she noted.
President Joe Biden has also called President-elect Donald Trump to congratulate him on his victory while disclosing plans to invite him to the White House for a meeting .
‘In his call with Trump, President Biden expressed his commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and emphasized the importance of working to bring the country together.
Biden also spoke with Kamala Harris and congratulated the Vice President on her historic campaign’ a White House statement said while noting that the president will on Thursday ‘address the nation to discuss the election results and the transition’.
Recall that Mr Donald Trump was earlier in the day declared the winner of the 2024 United States presidential election.
The president-elect, Mr Donald Trump, would be the 47th president of the United States.
