Re: Reflection On ENACT By Elder Olaitan Oyin Zubair-Nurudeen Adeyemi
Thank you Baba for the thoughtful write up. Thank you for the show of love. But I know the love is not about Nurudeen, it is about capturing the hope and aspirations of our people in general. You are just more concerned about the ability to win a general election and the ability to deliver on the mandate of the people if and when the general election victory becomes a reality.
I would like to believe that you are more driven by the need for progress and development of our people than anything else, and you believe that in Nurudeen ENACT such aspirations can be achieved.
Firstly sir, let me assure you that I am okay and will always be okay by the grace of God. Throughout my life, wherever I am is where Allah wants me to be. God has never made a mistake in my life and He won’t start now.
Secondly, the senate bid has never been about me personally. It has always been about our people.
The reasons I chose to join the race after due consultation with our people can be captured in 3 ways:
1.The burden of making Igbomina Lokan a reality. I am passionate about fairness, equity, and justice. After the primaries of 2018 and following the demise of our dear sister, Princess Funke Adedoyin, may her soul rest in peace, many had encouraged me to take part in the bye election. I refused because I believe that our Ekiti brethren deserves the House of Representatives seat in our Federal Constituency after years of domination by Irepodun.

Same can be said of my sojourn in the Senate race of 2022 because I believe that 12 years of continuous service from the Ibolo bloc is enough. Iam aware that Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, may his soul rest in peace, all but signed up to a non-renewable term should he had won the 2023 general election, and push the seat to igbomina. Every right-thinking person in Kwara South believes it should be Igbomina that should produce the next Senator.
2. ‘Eyan bi Olorun ni kosi o’ translates directly to ‘There is no human like God’. I just felt that I give the party the best chance at winning the general election and possibly helping lift up our two House of Representatives candidates to victory in the process for many reasons.

3.The burden of representing the hope and aspirations of the people*. Alhamdulilah (we give thanks to God), that one has been able to show through character and service delivery the capacity and ability that many believe will translate to good representation that will bring about the development and progress that our people yearn for. In addition, politicians have followers that want to live vicariously through one’s office. The political appointments and many doors that one would be able to open for others are part of the nature of democracy we practice in Nigeria.
Sir, you mentioned the projects and appointments that one has been able to facilitate in order to help our people and community. First, I want to that God. ‘Ama ba yan wa ise ni akin ba se’. People can only help you get a job, they cannot do the work for you.
I thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for the opportunity to serve our great nation at one of the highest levels of government. But the ultimate gratitude goes to the father of our state and the leader of our great party, HE Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON for nominating and pushing me forward for the opportunity to get appointed as a Board of Trustees Member (North Central), TETFund within a span of 24 hours when the opportunity became available. I don’t know if he wants me to say this or not, but I owe him a great deal of gratitude and a need to clear his name without getting into the details of Kwara State politics. HE Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON actually pushed my name for a DG position for one of the most important MDAs in the country. Only for another Lagos Name to surface on the list less than 48 hours later. We all know how these things work. His Excellency was so devastated that he reached out to me immediately the appointments were announced. Such is the love, care, and trust that he has in me.
Even on this primary issue, I know what he has told me privately. I know what he has said publicly. Every word is true. I have other sources to corroborate. Please for my sake, absolve him of whatever you may feel. I absolve him of any responsibility even though he feels some kind of way about everything and already reached out to me personally. HE Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON appreciates and rewards loyalty, excellence, and competency. In him, I can say that I have a true friend.
This is not the end of the road by no means. Many opportunities will present themselves including the one currently in front of me.
What we need is party unity and fostering an environment where all the eventual candidates of the All Progressives Congress will emerge victorious. To this, I am fully committed*. I will do my best for all of our eventual candidates as I would expect others to do on my behalf if and when am on the ballot. Insha’Allah, we will provide many branded vehicles and other things in support of the party’s efforts.
Sincerely, I want to thank Elder Olaitan Oyin Zubair for giving me this opportunity to write a personalized, non-sanitized response. Even though, there are tons of things that I would like to say but, I cannot divulge due to the doctrine of Executive privilege—is the right to keep private conversations and documents from the public. I really do feel the deep pain of our people, friends, family, and followers on the outcome of the primary. I do not take the love and passion for granted. May Allah be with each and everyone of us and meet us at the point of our needs.
Thank you and God bless.
Regards, your son,
Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun (ENACT)
AKINKANJU OMO of Kwara State.
