Security Agencies Urged To Investigate Land Grabbing Allegations In Osogbo
There is growing concern among residents and stakeholders in an Osun community over alleged attempts by some people in the State of the Living Spring to undermine longstanding court rulings on a disputed parcel of land, a development that has made many fear that it can threaten the peace of the area if not urgently addressed.
Sources told Team@orientactualmags.com that the land dispute has been the subject of a legal battle spanning several decades, with judgments reportedly delivered in 1982 and 1997 which had resolved the ownership claims against Mr. Muili, who is currently the Baale of Alare.
He is said to be one of the people asserting and claiming ownership of the land located in the Powerline axis of Ikirun-Osogbo Road, Osogbo, Osun State capital, despite unfavourable court rulings.
Community leaders said the family head, Alhaji Najimu, is not personally claiming ownership of the land but has consistently maintained the position of the rightful owners as recognized by the court rulings which has however allegedly exposed him to intimidation and criticism.
The situation had further generated public attention following the role played by Taiwo Ajibade in the matter while concerned residents have questioned the legality and propriety of his decision to get involved .
Additional allegations also linked the activities surrounding the land dispute to the influence of Kabiru Ajisope, who is popularly called Kabtok, and some political figures associated with the APC.
Individuals who have had their names mentioned in connection with the issue, are alleged to have brazenly intimidated people by moving around in vehicles emblazoned with APC while also allegedly making statements suggesting that political influence and ‘federal power’ can override valid court rulings.
Community stakeholders have described such a conduct as deeply troubling and capable of undermining public confidence in the judiciary, democratic institutions, and the rule of law.
Residents of the area have therefore called on relevant security agencies, judicial authorities, traditional institutions, and the Osun State Government to urgently investigate the allegations and ensure that lawful court rulings are respected and enforced without fear or political interference.
They emphasized that no individual or group should be allowed to weaponize political influence against justice or public peace, while warning that continued disregard for judicial pronouncements may create avoidable tension within the affected communities.
The residents however urged for calm and advised the parties involved to pursue lawful and peaceful channels in resolving lingering grievances that have to do with the land in question.
