Sokoto Gov-elect Sets Up Committee To Look Into Loans Taken By Tambuwal Administration

Sokoto state Governor-elect , Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, has set up a Finance and Debt Verification Committee that will inquire into the loans obtained by the Aminu Tambuwal administration.
Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu served as Deputy Governor under Governor Aminu Tambuwal between 2015 and 2019.
Ahead of the 2019 general election , Aliyu had refused to join Tambuwal in leaving the APC for the PDP and he had done this to show loyalty to Senator Aliyu Wamakko.
That was not all, Ahmed later got nominated as APC guber candidate and sought to stop Tambuwal from getting re-elected but he eventually lost the guber election that was keenly contested.
Tambuwal only managed to win after a re-run of the election.
Not daunted, Ahmed joined the race again last year and his efforts eventually yielded positive results.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned the committee inaugurated by Aliyu is headed by the Deputy Governor-elect, Mohammed Idris Gobir. The committee has been tasked with identifying all loans secured by the Tambuwal administration.

The committee would also seek to know what the loans were meant for and their volume as well as provide detailed information on all the loans taken and ascertain if they were utilized for the intended purpose .
The 20-member committee was among the 18 sub-committees inaugurated by the Chairman of the APC Transition Committee, Ambassador Abubakar Sani, Makaman Sokoto on Wednesday.
It will be recalled that some lawmakers in the state had alleged that the Tambuwal administration had taken loans to the tune of N86 billion – Team@orientactualmags.com
