Speaker Mudasiru Obasa’s Son Finally Becomes LG Chairman In Lagos
AbdulGaniyu Obasa, son of the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Mudasiru Obasa has finally emerged as Chairman of Agege Local Government.
Recall that AbdulGaniyu had sought APC nomination ahead of the local government elections held on July 12, 2025, but had Tunde Azeez, his father’s loyalist emerging as the party’s candidate while he was named as vice chairmanship candidate.
Although Azeez was sworn in as chairman on July 27, 2025, he had immediately proceeded on a medical leave and named Abdul-Ganiyu as Acting Chairman.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Azeez has resigned from his position and his letter of resignation was read out by the Leader of the house, Adeshina Haruna during the plenary session held by the local government’s parliament on Wednesday.
Azeez cited persistent health challenges that had made it difficult for him to perform his duties.
The lawmakers later unanimously supported Abdul-Ganiyu’s nomination as new Chairman of Agege Local Government.
‘His appointment is a testament to his credibility and experience, and a signal of the council’s commitment to ensuring that governance remains uninterrupted and responsive to the needs of the people’ the lawmakers submitted while also commending Azeez for his service and wishing him a speedy recovery-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
