Stakeholders Gather To Brainstorm On  Securing Good Future For Kwara South In Oko

The Kwara South Development Initiative (KSDI) summit held  at the weekend had stakeholders  in the Kwara South converging on Oko, Irepodun Local Government, to brainstorm   and strategize on how to ensure socio-economic development and secure a good future for the Kwara South Senatorial District. 

The summit kicked off with a welcome address by the chief convener, who is  the  Founder of Thomas Adewumi University, Oko and Chancellor of Kwara state University, Malete, Engineer  Johnson Bamidele Adewunmi while goodwill messages were delivered by Governor  AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq , who was represented by   his  Deputy,  Mr Kayode Alabi,  Kwara state APC chairman,  Prince Sunday Fagbemi: and Senator Yisa Oyelola Ashiru.

Prof. Olushegun Elegbeda , a lecturer at  the College of Medicine, Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti , who is also  a  Chief Consultant Epidemiologist and Community Physician at the  Federal Technology Hospital, Ido Ekiti, gave the Keynote speech.

The conference identified the challenges facing Kwara State and the potentials that can be harnessed for  the development of  the senatorial district.

Attendees of the summit include  the Deputy Governor, Mr  Kayode Alabi, the Convener, Dr. Adewumi, Senator Lola Ashiru, Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq’s cabinet members from Kwara South including Commissioner for Social Development, Mrs. Deborah Aremu, Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Sunbo Oyeyemi, Commissioner for Information, Hon. Bode Towoju, Commissioner for Environment, Mrs. Remilekun Banigbe and the  governor’s Special Adviser  on Political Communication, Alh. Bashir Adigun.

Others were members of  Kwara State House of Assembly from Kwara South, Hon Ganiyu Abolarin ( Ekiti) and Hon. Olayiwola Ojo ( Oyun) , APC House of Assembly candidate for Irepodun, Mr. Shola Odetundun, TIC Chairmen: Hon. Jide Ashonibate ( Ifelodun) , Hon. jide Oyinloye ( Irepodun), Hon. Tunde Fadipe (Isin), Hon. Victor Gbenga Yusuf ( Oke Ero) and Hon. Dr Waheed Ibrahim ( Oyun) 

Vice Chancellors of TAU, Landmark University and other intellectuals of Kwara state origin, including Prof. Olusegun Elegbede, who presented the Lead paper, Prof. Dunmade, Ms Bola Olukoju, a rapporteur , were also present.

Kwara South APC Stakeholders including Oloriewe Raheem Adedoyin, Dr. Jacob Ade Afolabi, who was the moderator, Chief Bisi Oloruntoba, Prof. Bashir Ibrahim, Prof. Babatunde Opabola, Barr. Kayode Towoju, Mrs Toyin Opawoye, Barr. Mrs Dupe Adejumo , Hon. Waheed Abolaji and  Alh. Ola Adua also attended the summit-Team@orientactualmags.com
