The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has submitted that members of the national football team currently participating in the AFCON tournament which is being hosted by Ivory Coast ensured that they won the quarter-final in the spirit of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The NFF has also promised that the Super Eagles would win the trophy to honour the President.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau, said this while talking to reporters in Abidjan on Saturday.
He thanked President Tinubu for his support, while praising his commitment to sports development especially football.
Recall that the match between Nigeria and Angola had ended 1-0 in favour of the country.
Gusau noted that the President’s support for the team showed how committed he is to sports development, especially football while praising his motivational words to the team.
‘You heard what he said. He said, ‘Boys go there, believe in me.
You don’t have any problem and whatever issues you are facing, just believe in me. Go and do the job and you’ll see the result.
That’s exactly what he told them; you can see them doing the job.
By the grace of God, I know he is going to reward them handsomely, which has never happened before in the history of Nigeria.
We promised him that we were going to give him the trophy, and by the grace of God, we are going to do just that’ he said.
Gusau also restated the NFF’s promise to deliver the trophy to Tinubu and called on Nigerians to continue to support the team.
‘We have just two matches to go and by the grace of God we will continue to do what we are doing.
We call on all Nigerians to pray for us because prayer is the key to whatever we are doing.
So, we call on all Nigerians to continue to support us with prayers’ he added-Team@orientactualmags.com
