Yakubu Yauri Leads Delegation To Zauro As Kebbi Govt Promises To Support Rainstorm Victims

Kebbi state Government has pledged to assist victims of the heavy rainstorm that destroyed over 100 houses in Zauro town , Birnin Kebbi Local Government on Friday night.
Governor Idris Nasiru’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafidan Yauri said this when he led a delegation of government officials to Zauro town on Saturday.
Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, expressed deep sympathy to the people of Zauro, on behalf of Governor Nasir Idris , Kauran Gwandu ,who is away in Saudi Arabia for the holy pilgrimage.
He assured that the Dr. Nasir Idris administration would provide immediate relief measures to ease their hardships.
‘ I want to assure you that the government would provide relief assistance to the victims.
It has been the tradition of the Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris administration to always render assistance to victims of calamity.
We are going to sit immediately with SEMA and HYPPADEC and see what we can do to assist the victims’ he said.

The governor’s Special Adviser on Special Duties , an indigene of Zauro, Alhaji Shafi’u Zauro told reporters that the governor has also mandated him to immediately mobilize the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, and other relevant agencies to undertake an on the spot assessment and provide succour to those affected.
He said the governor has directed the relevant agencies to provide immediate relief to the victims who had their houses destroyed by rainstorm in Zauro town.
Executive Director of SEMA, Engr. Abbas Rabi’u Kamba, said the agency has taken inventory of those affected as well as extent of damage in preparation for provision of food items and building materials to them.
Alhaji Abbas Kamba said more than one hundred houses were destroyed by the rainstorm.
The Executive Director advised urban and rural dwellers to encourage tree planting to mitigate the impact of windstorm.
The Managing Director of the Hydro Power Producing Development Areas Commission, HYPPADEC. Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa Katuka, also said the commission would liaise with SEMA to bring succour to the victims.
He expressed delight with the prompt visit to the town by the Kebbi state Government officials.
