Young Man Arrested For Hacking Mother To Death In Ondo
A young man, Samuel Akoade has been arrested and taken into custody by the police in Ondo State.
He was accused of hacking his mother, Mrs Olufunke Akoade to death in Ore ,Odigbo Local Government, Ondo State.
The incident reportedly occurred in the Powerline area of Ore on Sunday at about 5 pm. Samuel reportedly used a machete to kill his mother.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that spokesman for the police in the state, Abayomi Jimoh confirmed the incident on Monday while noting that the suspect remains in custody..
‘The incident occurred on Sunday, 16th August 2026, when the command received a report that the deceased person was found lying in a pool of blood at her residence. Preliminary information revealed that the victim had sustained deep machete cuts and was already dead when her body was discovered.
Following the report, police officers from Ore Division immediately mobilised to the scene of the incident, secured the area and commenced a preliminary investigation. A machete suspected to have been used in the attack was recovered, while the scene of the incident was photographed and documented.
The suspected assailant, Samuel, was reported to have fled the scene of the incident before the arrival of the police. However, following sustained efforts by the cops, Samuel Akoade was arrested and taken into custody’ he said.
Jimoh added that the body of the deceased woman has been deposited at the mortuary, while Samuel remains in custody.
