Yuletide: Touch Off Fireworks And Get Ready To Face Charges, Police Warn Kwara Residents
Kwara state police command, has warned residents of the state against setting off fireworks at any location in the state during this yuletide while noting that anyone who chooses to disobey this directive should get ready to face charges.
Spokesperson for the state police command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Tuesday also urged members of the public to promptly report suspicious activities to the security agency while noting that the restrictions on movement of motorcycles (Okada) and tricycles (Keke Napep) between the hours of 9:00 pm and 6:00 am remains in full force.
‘The Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya psc(+) Kwara State Command, wishes to extend his warm greetings to all residents as we approach the festive season of Christmas and New Year. As we look forward to a season filled with joy and celebrations, we must also prioritize the safety and security of everyone within our dear state of Harmony.
To this end, the following measures and guidelines are hereby reemphasized:
1. Prohibition of Fireworks and Explosives:
The use, sale, or distribution of fireworks, bangers, and other explosive devices is strictly prohibited. These items pose serious security and safety risks, including the potential to create panic and serve as a cover for criminal activities. Violators will face the full wrath of the law.
2. Restrictions on Okada and Keke Napep Movement:
The restrictions on the movement of motorcycles (Okada) and tricycles (Keke Napep) between the hours of 9:00 pm and 6:00 am remains in full force. This measure is designed to curtail criminal activities and ensure public safety.
3. General Security Tips:
1. Avoid traveling late at night or alone in secluded areas.
2. Be vigilant and report any suspicious activities or persons to the nearest security agency.
3. Secure your homes and vehicles properly, especially when attending social gatherings.
4. Keep emergency contact numbers handy and share them with your family members.
