2026 Osun Guber: Court Dismisses Suit Instituted By APP Seeking To Disqualify Bola Oyebamiji
The Federal High Court, Osogbo has struck out the suit filed by the Action Peoples Party seeking to have Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji disqualified and stopped from participating in the upcoming governorship election in Osun State.
Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji is the APC governorship candidate and gubernatorial election is scheduled to hold in the state on August 15, 2026.
Justice Funmilayo Dame-Ajayi in her ruling on Wednesday dismissed the suit for being incompetent while describing the plaintiffs as meddlesome people and submitting that they failed to prove their case beyond doubt.
The court also awarded costs against the plaintiffs for being meddlesome people and they have consequently been asked to pay the sum of 200,000 naira to the defendant.

Delivering her ruling in the suit with docket number FHC/OS/CS/50/2026 on Wednesday, Justice Funmilayo Dame-Ajayi submitted that preliminary objections filed by Mr. Muhydeen Adeoye Esq, the counsel for the 2nd Respondent and other counsels had to be first resolved and subsequently held that the Plaintiff failed to show that it participated in the primary elections involving the 2nd and 3rd Respondents and as such lacked locus standi to institute the action.
Justice Dame-Ajayi called the plaintiffs meddlesome people and dismissed the suit for lacking merit.
Political pundits in the state have described the ruling as setback for Governor Ademola Adeleke and his political party, Accord Party submitting that it was apparently a case of being ‘Jacob’s voice, but the hands of Esau’.
They argued forcibly that APP had instituted the lawsuit at the instigation of the governor citing the contempt proceedings against the reinstated Local Government Chairmen and councilors, who are members of APC which was also dismissed -Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
