2027 Kwara Guber: AMDA Endorses Muyideen Salako’s Candidacy, Highlights His Good Qualities
Ahead of the 2027 Kwara State gubernatorial election, a community development association, Aro Meta Development Association (AMDA) has declared support for Dr. Muyideen Azeez Olaniyi Salako while also highlighting his good qualities.
Dr. Muyideen Azeez Olaniyi Salako is a Kwara State APC guber aspirant.
Chairman of Aro Meta Development Association, Evangelist Sunday Ajileye, who presided over the press conference held at NUJ Press Centre, Ilorin on Monday, also emphasized the need for the people of Kwara South Senatorial District to present a common front while noting that the ‘Igbomina lokan agenda in respect of the senate seat is a just cause..
At the press conference in question which was attended by journalists including Team@orientactualmags.com, the association emphasized the need for unity in Kwara South and urged those who have political aspirations to work together.
‘We use this opportunity to make a passionate appeal to all Kwara South political actors, especially our gubernatorial aspirants. The 2027 elections will be decisive. Kwara South cannot afford a divided house. We must not, because of personal ambition or grievance, work against the collective interest of our district. History will not be kind to us if we allow internal rivalry to gift the governorship to another zone on a silver platter. We urge all aspirants to close ranks, subordinate personal interest to district interest, and work as one. In unity lies our strength; in disunity, we lose out in the political equation of Kwara State’ he said.
AMDA also declared unequivocal support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid submitting that he has shown an uncommon courage in laying the foundation for Nigeria’s economic recovery and has been fair to all zones in respect of appointments and projects.
‘For stability, consolidation of reforms, and continued inclusion of Kwara State in national development, we stand firmly with President Tinubu. We urge all Kwarans, and indeed all Nigerians, to support him to complete the good work he has started’ he said.
The Aro Meta Development Association also declared support for Dr. Muyideen Azeez Olaniyi Salako’s gubernatorial bid and urged all sons and daughters of Kwara South, and other well-meaning Kwarans, to support his candidacy in order to ensure a Kwara that works for all.
‘While we acknowledge that all Kwara South aspirants are eminently qualified, our thorough assessment shows that Dr. Muyideen Azeez Olaniyi Salako towers above others at this critical moment for the following reasons:
1. Unifying Leadership & Pan-Kwara South Acceptance: As Global President of Offa Descendants Union, Dr. Salako has demonstrated rare capacity to unite diverse interests beyond his Ibolo base. His leadership enjoys goodwill across Igbomina, Ekiti, and Ibolo blocs, making him the most acceptable rallying point for the Aro Meta tripod.
Proven Administrative Capacity: His stewardship at ODU has been marked by transparency, project delivery, and conflict resolution.
He has successfully mobilized human and material resources for community development, skills our state needs in a governor.
Grassroots Structure & Electoral Footprint: Dr. Salako possesses a tested political structure that cuts across the 7 LGAs in Kwara South and extends into Kwara Central where our sons and daughters reside in large numbers. This gives him the strongest electoral reach to win both primary and general elections.
Vision for Inclusive Development: His blueprint for Kwara speaks directly to our objectives — agro-industrial growth, rural roads, youth entrepreneurship, and equitable spread of projects. He understands that Kwara South’s prosperity is tied to a balanced Kwara State.
Temperament & Bridge-Building Credentials: In a time when Kwara needs healing and consensus, Dr. Salako’s calm disposition, respect for elders, and ability to engage all stakeholders — including other zones — stand him out as a governor for all.
Anchored on equity, justice, and stability of the Aro Meta tripod, we further note:
We recognize and support our Igbomina brothers and their request to claim the Senatorial seat which is reasonable and justifiable.
We equally recognize the request that a House of Representatives seat should be zoned to the people of Ifelodun Local Government Area, making two slots for our people in Igbomina bloc feasible.
We equally accept as most appropriate the request of our Ekiti bloc to zone the other House of Representatives slot to them.
However, in our belief that for equity, justice and fairness, and for the tripod of Aro Meta to sit firmly, we find it necessary to zone the governorship slot to the Ibolo people who should not be left out of the whole equation’ Evangelist Sunday Ajileye submitted-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
