Governor Ademola Adeleke has reacted to insinuations in some quarters and the assertions later made by ADC National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdulahi that his party played a role in the electoral victory recorded by the Accord Party in the gubernatorial election held in Osun State on August 15, 2026.
The governor has clarified and asserted that there was no ‘political alliance’ between his party and ADC.
‘We saw the possibility of collaboration. We saw the possibility earlier enough that if we decided to go full throttle, the possibility that the opposition would divide the votes and the APC would take the victory was there.
And that was why we saw the opportunity to work together, and that was what happened. That is why we can confidently celebrate what is going on in Osun, because for us, victory means that APC was defeated.
So, we don’t see the fact that our governorship candidate did not emerge as an occasion of defeat or failure. The failure, the defeat of the APC, was a real victory for us. We cooperated with the Accord party’ Mallam Bolaji Abdulahi had submitted on Monday.
In a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by his spokesperson, Mr Olawale Rasheed, the governor said there was no political deal or partnership with the ADC before, during and after the governorship election.
‘I commend political partners who went all out to make Saturday a victory day for all Osun people. But we must clarify for the sake of history that ADC was never part of the political alliance.
Now that the election is over, I am a governor of all Osun people irrespective of political groups, religion or race’ the statement quoted the governor as saying-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
