2027 Ogun Guber: Abayomi Hunye Meets IPAC Leaders, Says He’ll Not Back Down…Questions Senator Adeola Yayi’s Origin, Transparency

Mr. Abayomi Hunye, a former gubernatorial aspirant, has submitted that the Ogun State APC governorship primary election that was held on May 21, 2026, and its subsequent controversies, remain ‘unfinished business’..

He has insisted that the primary in question which has produced Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi) as the party’s guber candidate cannot stand, citing ‘lack of fairness and transparency’.

Recall that Mr Abayomi Hunye had recently declared and asserted that he remains in the 2027 governorship race and also announced his running mate.

Recall also that the gubernatorial primary that had only Senator Yayi and Abayomi as aspirants had the Chairman of Ogun State APC Governorship Electoral Committee, Wale Ohu announcing that the federal lawmaker had 304,055 votes out of the 305,287 accredited voters while Mr Abayomi Hunye had zero vote.

Mr Abayomi Hunye had since filed a lawsuit against the party and Yayi seeking nullification of the primary election. He cited widespread irregularities and disenfranchisement of his supporters .

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Mr Abayomi Hunye on Wednesday met with the leadership of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Abeokuta, the state capital, and vowed to continue with the legal battle.

IPAC is the umbrella body for all registered political parties in the country.

The former Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives said he will continue to fight for what he described as truth, fairness and the protection of the future of the state.

 ‘First, I don’t know how we can trust our resources, the future of my unborn child, to somebody who does not belong here.

And it’s not about not belonging to the state, but telling lies. You can contest. You have a right to contest anywhere in the world. All you need to do is to open up: ‘Yes, I was not from there, but I am living there now, and I want to do certain things.’

People will agree with you. But when you want to build something on lies, it will not stand.

My prayer is that whatever happens, I pray I see the end of the whole struggle. But I want to give a warning: I will not relent.

Nothing will make me relent. I even see this as a task for the unborn child of this state. God will help us’ he said.

 National Treasurer of IPAC, Comrade Sunday Ogini said the organization works with due process while noting that the submission made by Mr Hunye deserves critical analysis.
