The Era Of Searching For Political Networks-A Cogent Reminder-Babatunde Jamiu Akano
The scope of communications network operations in some Third world countries are most likened to electioneering periods of high-density volume of politicking, from federal level down to the grassroots level in Nigeria.

As we have competition in the telecommunication industry in respect of their modus operandi many political parties are also jostling for power without sincerity with regard to their agenda or blue prints.
Political parties comprise different members and calibres, designated purposely for different interests and focuses.
Some gladiators are not the best among equals, but privileged to lead. Many political leaders assumed leadership by divine, either by election or through appointments with qualities; opportunities or they are forced on the people by the power that be.
The assessment yardsticks by political gladiators could be glaringly identifiable through their responsibilities to their immediate party members and the people in general.
Those who are power-drunk are always found of searching for political networks by all means as electioneering period approaches because their political networks have been disconnected either deliberately; accidentally; provoked reactions or over ambitious gimmicks.
Various broken promises panel-beatings and chronic lies to sway people’s conscience have dominated the atmosphere as they seek to reconnect their political networks.
We’ve witnessed many political opportunists that had their political networks filled to the maximum brims at a particular time but now gasping to reconnect the networks within a few years, due to arrogance and below standards antics. It’s an indication that the quality of political networks doesn’t matter other than the duration of political networks exploited for the benefit of their constituents.
The cogent advice to all aspirants seeking elective positions is that they should internalize justice; equity and fairness and prove the veracity of the objectivity of various supports promised them by some political mercantiles who have positioned themselves as factors to the attainment of their aspirations.
Some political leaders are very upright and decent, because their sources of living are not attached to politicking only, many are professionals in various fields and many engage in physical means of livelihood income generations from various types of works.
It reminds me of an old popular EWI music lyric, from late Pa Larewaju Adepoju of blessed memory on religious aspect, which can simply explain the political mercantilism quote for record purposes:
‘Ti eba bere lowo oloselu pe, kini ise re? toba sope ‘oselu’ e sope oolee! t’oba ni kin’loun gbe? ebere pe kin’lounta?’ meaning in English ‘if you ask any politician that, what do you do for a living? and he or she says ‘it’s politics’ call him or her a thief, if he or she asks you what he or she has stolen, ask him or her ‘what are you selling?’
Any politician who relies on politicking only, and doesn’t engage in any other work has the tendency to become a ‘wuru-wuru political consultant or analyst devoid of any objectivity other than to primarily extort unsuspecting aspirants.
Many aspirants who know the truth and are still patronizing them are birds of the same feathers that flock together, the mother of all regrets are awaiting them on the day of political judgments which are primary elections and real election days.
Only God and the ‘power that be’ with blessings of God could determine everyone’s ambition. We should desist from finding what we have not lost and leaving our ambitions at the mercy of those who are politically promiscuous-Hon. Babatunde Jamiu Akano writes from Ilorin, Kwara State
